Comments on Wikis

I'm looking forward to creating one if not more wikis to track and advance projects in our library, but I'm little bit daunted by the number of wiki platforms that exist.

Thoughts About del.icio.us

I'm just getting the hang of del.icio.us, but I think I've already located a couple of useful and interesting sites having to do with Kubuntu Linux systems and I located a long-time friend who has a profile on Linkedin. I'm looking forward to doing some more exploring.

Thoughts About Lifelong Learning

I can think of two ways that lifelong learning is already a part of my daily life. Through the different kinds of word puzzles I do on a daily basis I'm always presented with new challenges and new opportunities to learn. I've learned to see these puzzles as challenges rather than problems and this has usually helped me to solve all but the most difficult of these. It also helps that I have been doing them now for more than 40 years.

The second place that I see lifelong learning in my daily life is when I am faced with new home repair or remodeling tasks which force me to read the how-to books in order to determine whether I feel that I am up to doing the task myself or whether I need to call upon someone else who is more expert at doing the task. In reading about these tasks I can assess my own abilities better and can make an informed decision about how to proceed.
